the Four Horsemen这个词来源于圣经的《启示录》,“天启”就是“启示”,所以天启四骑士又译“启示录四骑士”,启示录描绘了末日审判,所以启示录这个词总是用来指代世界末日。
The "Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse" is a term used to describe a concept from the New Testament of the Christian Bible, in chapter six of the Book of Revelation. Although scholars disagree as to what exactly each horseman represents, the four horsemen are often referred to as Conquest, War, Famine, and Death. They are part of an apocalyptic vision in which God summons and empowers them to wreck Divine havoc on the world. Each is revealed, individually, when the first four of seven seals are broken (opened) in Revelation.
Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse in popular culture
Red Horse
When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!" Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make men slay each other. To him was given a huge sword.
— Revelation 6:3-4 NIV

In Supernatural, the Four Horsemen are referenced in the fourth season episode Death Takes A Holiday by the demon Alistair before he goes to kill two reapers in an effort to break a seal that will lead to releasing Lucifer from Hell. Alistair claims that the scyth,he is carrying was borrowed from an old friend who didn't "really ride a pale horse" but who does "have three amigos" who are "jonesing for the Apocalypse." In the fifth season episode Good God, Y'All!, War makes an appearance. He drives a candy red Ford Mustang and uses a ring on his right ring finger to make people hallucinate and kill each other.
