A Hollywood powerhouse at just thirteen, actress Abigail Breslin proves that age is nothing but a number.
Abigail Breslin is getting her long hair blown out while lounging on an antique chaise at the very VIP Madeleine Cofano hair salon in Paris when she pronounces, rather dramatically, "I'm such a diva." One second later, she dissolves into laughter: "I can't even say that with a straight face." Diva she's certainly not, although the thirteen-year-old could easily be one: She's been a working actor since she was five and has starred alongside Cameron and Kate (Diaz and Hudson, of course)--and then there's that little matter of her Academy Award nomination for Little Miss Sunshine. And while her career has taken her to Tokyo, Rome, and even Valdosta, Georgia--this is Abigail's first visit to France (she's on official beauty business to visit Aveda's new boutique salon and the company's lavender fields in the south of France). "I've been collecting Eiffel Tower statues since I was five, so to be here now? I'm beyond excited!" the starlet says. At the Aveda lavender harvest, the starlet didn't hesistate to pitch in. "I got to help collect the plants and then crush them! It was cool to learn how products are made," she explains. "And I love that they're eco-friendly." Abigail is a budding environmentalist herself, and her pets (which include, to date, two dogs, a cat, and a turtle) are incentive for her to do her part in saving the planet: "I live in New York City, so I walk everywhere. I recycle everything, brush my teeth without the water running, and my showers are short." The latter doesn't crimp her style, since she favors a natural look when she's off-set--no surprise, considering she found herself surrounded by blood-and-gore makeup for her new horror film, Zombieland, costarring Emma Stone and Jesse Eisenberg. "I always have makeup on when I'm working, so when I'm not, I barely use anything at all," she notes. "A swipe of Aveda lip balm, a little bit of blush, and I'm out the door." Spoken like a true pro.
