和《辛德勒的名单》中描述的拯救被德军屠杀的犹太人不同的是，本片中的犹太人没有被任何其他人拯救，他们拯救了自己，他们用自己的团结、勇气与信仰让自己活了下来，正是这些千千万万勇敢的人们的反抗，才使战争最终走向了胜利。
影片没有宏大的战争场面，更多的是把镜头对准了森林社区里为了自由艰难生存下来的人们的艰苦生活，亲情、友情、爱情，对自由的追求，人性的贪婪与自私，为集体而牺牲小我的奉献精神等等，正是这些细小而真实的描绘深深地感动、触动了我。
与一场战斗相互切换的那场森林婚礼，虽然周遭环境凄凉而单调，虽然漫天白雪气候寒冷，但是还是给人带来了久违的欢乐与希望，是迄今为止看到的最与众不同的一场婚礼。
