《爱情三选一》这部电影很耐看，里面有许多关于爱和人生的小道理。还有许多值得把玩的台词。
电影开头，男主人公Will的话很耐人寻味。他讲了两件意想不到的事儿：
i don’t think anyone ever imagines on their wedding day they’ll be part of the 46%that doesn’t live happily ever after. Then again, I never thought I’d spend my days weeks and years working in an advertising agency trying to figure out how to get kids to eat Cap’n Crunch instead of Froot Loops.

第一件事是：结婚的人谁都不会想到离婚。不过，统计数字标明，百分之四十六的夫妻最后都离婚了。
第二件事是：很多人都没想到自己能做现在正做的工作。WILL的理想是当总统，结果他现在做的工作是营销儿童谷类食品。
要离婚的WILL最开心的日子是周二和周五，因为他可以早下班，去接他的宝贝女儿放学。他是随身听一族，喜欢一边走路一边听音乐，如果选的音乐恰好能和心情对上的话，那会非常爽！
But Tuesdays and Fridays are my favorite days, I get out work early and I go pick up（接某人） my daughter, Maya, from school. Now it’s a great feeling when you find the right track to go with the day.（音乐呼应了一天的心情）
宝贝姑娘MAYA在学校上了一堂性教育课。这对小孩子来说，也太……所以呢，MAYA有太多问题要问老爸了。当个好家长的第一条就是必须会答孩子提的问题。
M: If they didn’t want a baby, then how come they had sex?
W: That’s a very good question. I guess you could say that they were rehearing.
第一回合：
孩子：(男女发生性关系是为了要小孩——性教育课给孩子的教育)他们不想要小孩，为什么还要发生性关系？
老爸：你问的太棒了。我猜他们是在为要孩子彩排呢！
M: What’s the boy word for slut?
W: They still haven’t come up with one yet, but I’m sure they’re working on it.
第二回合：
孩子：（因为老爸说自己有两个女朋友，中间还有一些有过关系但不是认真交往的女人，I had two serious girlfriends and then some other, a smattering 少数of other women that I dated.）形容男人是荡妇的词儿是什么？
老爸: 还没人研究出来呢，不过会有研究出来的一天。
M: I think you should tell me the story of you and my mom.
W: Why do you keep saying “my mom” like I’ve never met her?
M: Well, because now that you’re getting divorced, so she’s mine, not yours.
W: Is that so?
M: Tell me how it happened. And the real story, not the “oh, we met, we fell in love, and we decided to take all the love and make a family, and that’s how we made you.
W: You know something? I’m gonna tell you the real, true story of how me and your mother met.
M: When I’m old enough.
第三回合：
孩子：我觉得你得给我讲讲你和我妈妈的故事。
老爸：你为什么要说“我妈妈”，好像我和她从来就没见过。
孩子：因为你们正在离婚，所以她是我的，不是你的。
老爸：是这样吗？
孩子：告诉我你们怎么相爱的，我要听真话。不是那种“哦，我们相遇了，然后坠入爱河，然后我们决定为爱结婚，这也是我们为什么生下你。”
老爸：你知道吗？我会告诉你实情的，我和你妈妈是如何相遇的。
孩子：当我足够大。
M: You still have to tell me the story of why you feel in love with her.
W: I feel in love with her because she was smart., and beautiful and fun.
M: So now she’s stupid and ugly and boring ?
W: Of course not.
第四回合：
孩子：（父母正在闹离婚）你得给我讲讲你是怎么爱上妈妈的？
老爸：因为她聪明，美丽还有意思。
孩子：你的意思是说她现在很笨很丑还很无聊？
老爸：当然不是。
M: You smoked?
W: no, yeah, but I didn’t mean to tell you that. Listen, I was young, and I was stupid, and I haven’t smoked in years. I promise you.
第五回合：
孩子：你抽烟？
老爸：不，对，但我并没打算告诉你这件事，听着，我那时候年轻还很蠢，我已经戒烟好多年了，我向你保证。
I was young, and I was stupid：这句话很常见，当回忆以前做的荒唐事儿时，都可以用这个万金油句子。我那时候年轻不懂事啊。
